Mumbai electric scooter rental startup Bounce said its first consumer electric scooter, Infinity, is expected to roll out early next month and deliveries are expected to start from early 2022. The Bangalore-based company has acquired 22Motors, including its manufacturing unit in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, under a contract valued at $ 7 million.

The company also said it is considering setting up another factory, in South India, given the potential of the domestic market.

In addition, earlier this month, it announced it is investing $ 100 million in the manufacture of electric scooters and expanding the battery swap infrastructure over the next 12 months.

Bounce is expected to launch its first consumer electric scooter, Bounce Infinity, on December 2, and reservations would also begin the same day, the company said in a statement.

However, deliveries are slated for early next year, Bounce said, adding that the advanced “Made in India” scooter can be booked by making an upfront payment of just Rs 499.

The Bounce Infinity will be equipped with a smart and removable Li-ion battery, which can be removed and charged according to customer convenience and requirements, he said.

Bounce also claimed to offer a one-of-a-kind option in the home electric vehicle arena where customers can also purchase their electric scooter affordably without a battery and use Bounce’s extensive battery swap network to be on the go. movement, apart from acquiring the vehicle with the battery, he said.

Customers will only have to pay for battery swaps, each time they swap an empty battery with a fully charged battery from Bounce’s swap network, he said.
