TC Announces Certified Training Partnerships With Major Automotive Manufacturers As Part Of TC’s Automotive Technology Program

Texarkana College was contracted by Ford Motor Company and Toyota Motor Corporation to provide industry-certified training for students enrolled in TC’s Automotive Technology, Bodywork and Diesel Technology programs. Representatives from colleges and the auto industry will attend a press conference on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. to make the official announcement. Representatives from local dealerships will showcase donated vehicles equipped with the latest technology for instructors to use as training elements, alongside an industry-specific training program.

“Regional auto dealerships need an industry-trained pool of students to meet the growing demand for skilled workers in this industry,” said Brandon Washington, dean of workforce training at Texarkana College. “Access to a state-of-the-art factory-backed curriculum and hands-on training with newer vehicle models gives Texarkana College students a competitive advantage when seeking employment. We are honored to be selected by these auto giants to deliver personalized training through our programs that benefit local and regional auto dealers, our community and consumers. ”
